POSITIONS AT SUGAR ESTATE IN EAST AFRICA
A major
business group in EAST AFRICA, having diversified operations
in Sugar manufacture, Trailer manufacturing, Transport
operations and trading, is looking for young, energetic and
self driven persons to fill various senior positions within
the group.
General Manager –
Sugar Estate and Factory ( Ref GM/ TZ)
The General Manager, who will report to the Board of
Directors, will be responsible for all agricultural and
factory operations at one of our sugar estates.
A degree in either Engineering or Agriculture is required,
preferably with some financial qualifications.
The ideal candidate will be aged between 40 and 50 years and
will have had over 20 years experience in an agro-industrial
environment with at least 10 years in a senior position (eg
Factory/Agricultural Manager) with a proven record of
success within the sugar industry.
Agricultural Manager (Ref AM/TZ)
The Agricultural Manager will report to the General Manager
of the sugar estate and will be responsible for the
management of all estate agricultural operations. This will
include crop cultivation, irrigation, agronomy and cane
harvesting.
Age
:35-50 years
Qualifications :Degree in Agriculture/Agronomy
or related field
Experience
:Minimum of 15 years on a sugar estate, out of which at
least
5years should be
at senior position. The incumbent should be
knowledgeable in
all aspects of sugar cane agriculture.
Factory Manager (Ref FM/TZ)
The Factory Manager will be responsible for the efficient
running of the sugar factory, from cane handling through to
production of bagged sugar.
Age
:35-50 years
Qualifications :Degree in Electrical,
Mechanical or Chemical Engineering
Experience :A
minimum of 10 years in a senior management position within
a
sugar factory. The incumbent should be experienced and
knowledgeable in all aspects of sugar factory engineering,
operations and production.
Farm Machinery and Transport Manager
(Ref TM/TZ)
The FMT Manager will be responsible for the maintenance
of the entire fleet on our sugar Estate. The incumbent will
be hands-on and self motivated reporting directly to the
General Manager
Age
:30-45 years
Qualifications : Degree/Diploma in Automotive
Engineering or time-served
technician/journeyman in a
related field with managerial experience
Experience : At least 15 years experience with heavy
agricultural and transport
equipment. Experience with
various types of heavy agriculturalw
equipment is essential.
The fleet includes Caterpillar D8/D7
bulldozers, excavators,front end loaders and motor graders, a large
fleet of Case
and New Holland tractors, Cane Haulage trailers
and
grab-loaders, and a large fleet of heavy and light vehicles.
Electrical Engineer (Ref EE/TZ)
Responsible for all heavy electrical equipment in the sugar
factory and on the estate.
Age
:30-45 years
Qualifications : Degree in
Electrical Engineering or equivalent
Experience :
At least 10 years experience in a heavy industrial
environment
preferably within a sugar factory. Experience
with HV and LV
switchgear, Motor Control centres, generation
and distribution,
and with variable speed AC drives will be
an advantage.
